As founder and Chief Boredom Buster Andrea Driessen teams with companies, nonprofits, and trade associations that want to save time, money, and guesswork in their search for top-tier speakers, entertainers, and thought leaders. She also designs events with fresh meeting formats, content-driven games, and out-of-the-box engagement tools. Attendees are fully awake, radically involved, and able to perform at their very best.
For over 30 years, Andrea has been linking speakers with captive audiences. Raised in a family in which learning was strongly encouraged, by parents who valued self-directed education and discovery, Andrea thrives on connecting experts with audiences. A Professional Convention Management Assn. “Best in Class” speaker, Andrea delivers a wide range of interactive workshops for business audiences.
A member of the Int’l Assn. of Speakers Bureaus and a member of its Ethics Committee, Andrea was given their Pacesetters’ Award in recognition of her efforts to move the Association and the industry forward. She helped organize TEDxSeattle for 7 years, and is a TEDSummit and TEDActive attendee.
She is also the author of the award-winning book, The Non-Obvious Guide to Event Planning: For Kick-Ass Gatherings that Inspire People, which the International Book Awards named the 2019 winner in the Business: Communications/PR category. She also writes regularly for the Meeting Professional Magazine.
Believing that we’re all entitled to feeling engaged in the world up til the end, Andrea is a hospice volunteer in Seattle. In 2019, Andrea presented her hospice-inspired idea at TEDxSeattle: “Eulogies aren’t just for dead people.” Learn more at Grace-Notes.org.
And when not putting an end to boring meetings, Andrea stays un-bored with visits to spas, happy hours, gyms, and other time zones. Eventually she would like to become a trapeze artist with Cirque du Soleil.
