Nationally Known Radio Host on KUOW Morning Edition, Humorist, Speaker, & Author
Need some side-splitting laughs NOW–and at your next meeting? Invite NPR/KUOW’s Bill Radke to turn your organization’s news and culture into humor. Meantime, sneak a peek at his latest demo reel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEdmgy3Z_E0
Bill Radke is a nationally known public radio celebrity. Every morning, as host of Marketplace Morning Report, he updated more than 5 million listeners on the economy. Before Marketplace, he made America laugh on National Public Radio’s satirical comedy program, Rewind. And we spent our off-hours with him on Weekend America.
He’s lived and worked in Seattle for years. The Seattle Times called him the city’s Jerry Seinfeld. He’s been a comedian, winning the Seattle International Standup Competition, as well as a newspaper columnist and author of the book Seattle. He hosted 97.3 KIRO FM’s Seattle Morning News. He even wrote a weekly column in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. And after a time in Los Angeles, Bill is now back like a salmon in the Emerald City, hosting KUOW’s morning show and its Friday Week In Review.
Bill brings wit, wisdom and humor to his live programs. He shares how growing up in the middle of nine children explains his attention-getting style: “A radio studio is where I could finally talk without getting a wedgie.” He weaves his life and career into a series of hilarious stories, and takes questions about the national media. He also offers his insights into business and the economy, always bringing his natural, incisive sense of humor into play.
Bill’s given acclaimed speeches to clients as diverse as candy makers, building contractors, insurance companies, electrical designers, teachers and many others. Bill has spoken at Boeing, the Seattle Art Museum and Oberto Foods… at conventions, associations, societies…the list goes on. The common denominator: how delighted they were with Bill Radke.
If you book him, you’ll laugh, you’ll retell his stories–and you’ll look like a genius.
Make your next meeting memorable and fun by inviting Bill Radke as your headlining host and humorist. Then take all the credit.
One client said, “Radke adds a different way of looking at common everyday life to his monologue. He satirizes with a basic “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” down-home saunter, boyish and irreverent.”
After their event with Bill, another client wrote: “Bill far exceeded our expectations. He was able to connect almost instantly with the audience of several hundred HR professionals and had people laughing and enjoying themselves. Bill’s sophisticated, self-deprecating wit and his ability to adapt his presentation to our audience really resonated with our guests. He took the time to meet with us in advance to get to know our group, and it really showed.
I doubt many comedians can create an entire monolog about an employment theme and make it funny. Bill did….I highly recommend Bill for any corporate speaking opportunity.”
A meeting planner from the financial industry commented: “Your presentation really touched on the political issues relevant to our particular audience, and did so in a humorous, light-hearted and very entertaining way. I found your commentary to be well researched, professional and intellectually stimulating.”
And a group of dentists wrote: “Your material was very tasteful and hilarious. You involved the audience in delightful ways and we all appreciated your relaxed tone.”
Davis Wright Tremaine law firm wrote: “Everyone in our group of 400 immensely enjoyed Bill’s comedy. Our group tends to be more on the serious side, so we were a little nervous about how “comedy” would go over. Bill did a great job of reading the crowd, and taking the comments from our pre-show meeting and turning it into very relevant “inside” humor. It felt like he was a real employee, who knew the ins and outs and challenges that we face in our business. His humor about local issues was a great match up with the inside humor, as it brought all of us to common ground that is outside our office. Everyone left the show with a smile!”
Keybank said: “First, the event garnered a 97% “meets” or “exceeds” expectations from our 3-question survey. In the world of events like Sound Thinking, that is a superior ranking.”
“We are still compiling numbers but it looks like a record-breaking year! “ … “Jonathan and his wife said how much they enjoyed you … From a major sponsor that means a lot.” –Franciscan Health System
